DJ Rayza AKA Ray Berrios was born and raised in the rough streets Da Bronx. He was always in love with music from early on as evidenced by him becoming a breakdancer. Listening to Rap music via Kiss FM (DJ Red Alert) and WBLS (Marley Marl) Rayza feel in love with the sounds of a live DJ.
At age 14 he watched and studied the craft of fellow DJ Kool Kirk. He saw the ability to control a party and the popularity that came with being the DJ and fell in love. As music evolved and the introduction of Freeestyle Music Rayza began listening to HOT 103 (HOT 97). Given Freestyle Music's latin roots and rhythms Rayza was intrigued and began collecting music. At age 16 Rayza partnered up with his mentor DJ Mistic and began mixing 80's Freestle & House Music. He picked up the skill quickly and began making tapes for friends who loved the sounds of him blending 2 songs together.
Rayza became the local DJ that would do his thing for anyone that would listen. He started promoting house party's (JAMS) with himself as the DJ by handing out flyers throughout the Fordham Road area. Before you knew it, he was doing Block Parties, getting booked for numerous weddings, birthday parties, and eventually hit the club scene where he made his mark.
After about a year Rayza went back to his roots and started to incorporate Rap & R&B into his set. After listening to the tape pros "DJ Rei - Double R And GBo The Pro" Rayza also introduced Reggae into his set.
Rayza - Always with his ear to the streets, continued to listen to Mix Tape DJ's and was influenced by such greats as Ron G, Chill Will, Kool Kirk, and Craig G. But the most Influential DJ to Rayza is none other then the great "DooWop". The versatility that this DJ showed in mixing, blending, rapping, and all around skill is what molded DJ Rayza into the up and coming star he is today.
After a 4 year lay-off Rayza relocated to Upstate New York in Dutchess County. Now he's back with a vengeance. Armed with the ability to create on the fly blends, remixes, impressive rap skills and the skills to move the crowd, Rayza took Dutchess County by storm by showing off his skills every Saturday Night at The Mad Hatter in Poughkeepsie.
Since Then Rayza has Joined The Digital Assault Team and the world renoun DJ H-Bomb and made his mark in the club scene Throughout Hudson Valley. His skills were so impressive that he gained the attention of the Program Director of Clear Channel Radio Station, 96.1 Kiss FM. He became a Co-Producer of The Morning Blend Mix Show - Heard every weekday morning @ 7:25 am on CJ's Playhouse (96.1 Kiss FM - Hudson Valley). Gaining much deserved popularity he was asked to also appears on Fridays from 4pm-6pm to rock the Reggaeton @ 4 And The Traffic Jam. It gained such popularity that The Traffic Jam beame the best daily mix show in the Hudson Valley.
Rayza is also a savvy business owner - Next Level Entertainment - and continues to make a mark and expand his popularity. You can catch him Wednesday & Friday nights at "Vigos Sip N Soul Cafe" for the best party In Beacon!! As well as Thursdays At The Last Chance Bar & Restaurant in Wappingers.
